White Noise

Still all I have is this place to write.

In my previous posts, I complained about my inability to type in Colemak layout. However, there’s a silver lining.

I still have a place to write. As long as I have this I’m good. As long as I have a text editor. As long as I have a notebook, paper, pen and pencil I can write. Writing grounds me.

Throughout my life, a few things have significantly shaped who I am and who I’m becoming.

  1. Thinking
  2. Reading
  3. Writing
  4. Speaking
  5. Doing

Thinking is a default, something everyone does. Reading also shapes who I am; it’s not the quantity but the quality of what I read. Writing follows suit; it’s not the amount but the content. Finally, speaking influences the quality of my relationships with others.

Doing is the hardest part. Without following through on your plans, thinking becomes pointless. I often struggle with this and feel frustrated when I don’t complete my goals. However, I’m committed to improving daily through writing.

Writing has become my sole outlet these days. As long as I have a place to write I can process and recover from my failures. I’ll continue writing to improve myself and so should you.

Remember, you’re not your thoughts. Thoughts and thinking are two different things. However, most of the time, you’re what you write.
